Report: Vikings are NFL's London game candidate

Now that the St. Louis Rams have dropped their commitment to play in London, the Minnesota Vikings are the NFL?s top candidate to take that spot, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.?

The Rams were scheduled to at London?s Wembley Stadium in 2013 and 2014. The Vikings have a flexible lease at the Metrodome and they rank 31st out of 32 NFL teams in generatating stadium revenue.

?We?ve expressed an interest, and there?s a process the league is following,? Lester Bagley, the Vikings? vice president of public affairs and stadium development said. ?We?ll see how it shakes out.?

The NFL played its first game in London in 2007. Nine different teams have visited, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have played there twice. This season, the Rams are scheduled to play the New England Patriots on Oct. 28.
