Gaming Sites Not Blocked By Schools. Online Gambling Is Not A New

When you are playing online bingo, your cards are selected randomly for you. Most of the online bingo sites will give you three or four cards, while some others may allow you more. All online bingo games have a display board or a caller for the numbers, and the game pattern is displayed as well. In some bingo games, the numbers are automatically marked on your card.

Dominica ? Gambling legalization was accepted exactly where on-line casinos and sportsbooks are certified. Having said that, physical presence of the corporation will have to be maintained in Dominica.

You should know certain things about your online bingo room, which are normally provided by them: if they are licensed or not, their cash policies, what games they offer, and similar details. Read all the terms and conditions before you register at the online bingo site.

As many online gambling sites worldwide are being shut down for legal reasons, and with many of these sites? patrons moving towards online skill games, the market for online skill games will likely continue to flourish.

There is not one but hundreds of online-casinos marketing themselves aggressively on the Internet and wanting to take the lion?s share of gamblers. It is however, the individual user who has to take the ultimate decision when it comes to putting his money. There are no ?written? or hard and fast rules when it comes to choosing the right casino. However, some basic criteria can definitely be of instrumental help.

Legal Online Gambling Sites

The answer is still unclear, as is the entire issue on a whole. Because the law itself applies to the banking institutions, the overall legality of playing online games for money is still being determined on a state level and not on a federal level. Many people feel that now due to the new liberal administration that is taking office, that this and other conservative rulings will be revoked. This impinges on peoples personal rights and also tries to have government intervene with the Internet, which for decades has been the worst fear of internet pioneers who saw the Internet as a bit of an utopian entity.

A veteran online Bingo games player gets some help from this website too. He can improve his game and get to know about bingo bonus available in other game formats. He can have another look at the bingo calls list and get to read news about the bingo world. On the basis of its reliability, it is one of the best in terms of acceptance in the bingo community and trustworthiness.

Typically, the online gambler will upload funds to the online casino. Once the funds are uploaded from a personal bank account, you can play either the casino games, or place bets on other types of gambling games. Online gamblers usually place bets on sporting events like games and horse races.

Roper Industries buying Sunquest for about $1.42B

SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) ? Medical and industrial equipment maker Roper Industries Inc. is buying hospital software company Sunquest Information Systems Inc. for approximately $1.42 billion.

Sunquest, based in Tucson, Ariz., provides diagnostic and laboratory software to more than 1,700 hospitals globally.

"Sunquest meets all of Roper's key acquisition criteria and is an ideal fit with both our medical and software platforms," Roper Chairman, President and CEO Brian Jellison said in a statement Monday.

Roper says Sunquest will continue to operate under its own name and market products and services under their current brand names.

Privately held Sunquest is owned by a group that includes Huntsman Gay Global Capital and Vista Equity Partners. Sunquest President and CEO Richard Atkin says that the deal will supply the company with the finances and strategic resources needed to bolster its product offerings and expand into new areas.

The buyout is expected to close within 30 days.

Roper, based in Sarasota, Fla., also reported on Monday that its earnings rose 8 percent to $114.8 million, or $1.15 per share, from $106.3 million, or $1.08 per share, in the prior-year period. This met the expectations of analysts polled by FactSet.

Revenue for the three months ended June 30 climbed 4 percent to $724.9 million from $699.9 million. The results fell short of Wall Street's estimate of $746.9 million.

Roper also raised its full-year adjusted earnings outlook to a range of $4.84 to $5 per share from $4.75 to $4.91 per share, which accounts for the Sunquest deal and the stronger dollar. Wall Street expected $4.84 per share.

The company said that the forecast excludes acquisition-related expenses, debt extinguishment charges and the impact of any future acquisitions.

Mitt Romney visits Western Wall in Jerusalem

Speaking in Jerusalem, Mitt Romney says that preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons "must be our highest national security priority." Watch his entire speech.

By Garrett Haake, NBC News

JERUSALEM - Mitt Romney made an unannounced trip to one of the holiest sites in Judaism, the Western Wall, on Sunday, as the presumptive GOP nominee continued his week-long overseas trip.

Romney,?joined by his wife, Ann, and son Josh, along with a bevy of aides, was escorted by American and Israeli security through a throng of well-wishers, press and worshippers gathered at the wall on Tisha B'av, considered the saddest day on the Jewish calendar.

Several top Romney donors were also seen at the wall, escorted by aides. A contingent of Romney donors have traveled here for a Monday fundraiser at a Jerusalem hotel.

Romney was shown a diagram of the second Temple, of which the wall is the only remnant.? The destruction of the second Temple by Roman forces nearly 2000 years ago is one of the events mourned on this day, contributing to big crowds gathered there Sunday.

The Rabbi of the Western Wall read Romney a passage, and Romney placed his hand on the wall and appeared to pray. Ann Romney prayed at a separate section of the wall reserved for women. In keeping with tradition, both Mitt and Ann Romney wrote personal messages or prayers on pieces of paper and tucked them into cracks in the wall. An aide said it would not be appropriate to disclose what the couple wrote.

Mitt Romney would 'respect' Israel strike on Iran, aide says

As the Romneys left the wall amidst a crowd of people, Mitt Romney reached out and shook hands with supporters, and many Israelis shouted political messages at him as he passed.

?Mitt Romney! God will make you president because you came to Israel!? one man shouted.

Jason Reed / Reuters

U.S. Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney visits the Western Wall, Judaism's holiest prayer site, during prayers marking Tisha B'Av in Jerusalem's Old City, Sunday.

"Free Jonathan Pollard," shouted several other men, referring to an American citizen convicted of spying for Israel, whose case has caused some friction between the two closely allied nations.

Earlier in the day, Romney met with Israeli leaders including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli president Shimon Peres. On Sunday night, Romney is due to deliver a speech on the importance of the American-Israeli alliance from Jerusalem, where he will be introduced by the city's mayor.

Romney looks for political lift in Israel after London miscues

Romney aides said the speech would focus heavily on the importance of the alliance, and the shared values that undergird it.

Excerpts released by the campaign indicate it would also address anxieties over the dangers posed to Israel and the world by a nuclear-armed Iran, which a Romney adviser earlier said was an "existential threat" to Israel, adding that a Romney administration would "respect" a unilateral Israeli effort to eliminate Iran's nuclear program if sanctions and other peaceful options failed.

"Today, the regime in Iran is five years closer to developing nuclear weapons capability," Romney was expected to say in his remarks. "Preventing that outcome must be our highest national security priority."

In fact Irrrve never already been great at generating hot cakes?. Maybe it?s a innate drawback (my personal mom hasn?t been directly into cooking much sometimes?), or even my very own ambivalence in order to cooking food generally (I am advised I ?eat to live as opposed to stay to be able to eat??) We unavoidably end up getting some quite odd player puffed as well as burnt off semi-circular cds and a kitchen area packed with smoke cigarettes soon after a single rounded with all the frying pan in a make an effort to generate these morning meal goodies thus beloved by owls and larks alike.

Usain Bolt says bad back has caused problems

(AP) ? Usain Bolt fessed up. It was his back.

The Olympic champion said Thursday a bad back has been causing him hamstring problems, leading to a pair of losses to training partner Yohan Blake at the Jamaican trials.

"It was a slight problem. I got that fixed and I'm ready to go," Bolt said in his first formal media appearance of the London Games, where he was given the honor of carrying his country's flag at Friday's opening ceremony.

Bolt lost to Blake twice at the recent Jamaican trials in both the 100 and his favored 200 meters. The setbacks fueled speculation that he was injured but haven't dampened expectation that he will retain his 100 and 200 gold medals.

"My fitness (at the trials) was all right, I guess, but I wasn't at the best," Bolt said. "I can't complain. It was all right. It's always a wake up call to get beaten. For me it's all about getting it right on the day. I'm all right (now)."

Bolt also dismissed talk that he had been training away from TV cameras and reporters at the Jamaican team camp in central England because he is injured. Jamaica's 4x100 relay team also is the current Olympic champion.

"I'm always ready," he said. "It's all about the championship. It's never about the trials, everyone knows that. My coach doesn't like the cameras. He likes to keep me away from the cameras."

Bolt was scheduled to appear alongside Blake and other athletes at the event in the heart of east London, but travel problems held some of them up, the Jamaican Olympic Association said.

Instead, Bolt and teammate Asafa Powell were the only two present out of six Jamaican athletes who were supposed to attend.

Before their appearance, JOC President Michael Fennell announced Bolt would be Jamaica's flag bearer at the opening ceremony.

"Carrying the flag is an honor," Bolt said. "For my country Jamaica, I'll do anything ? to be on TV. I'm happy. I'm looking forward to tomorrow."

Wearing a bright yellow cap with the letters "U'' and "B'' on the front, Bolt laughed and joked with Powell and appeared relaxed throughout their appearance in an old warehouse.

At the Olympic Stadium, Bolt likely faces his biggest test in years against Blake.

"I wouldn't say I'm under pressure," Bolt said. "I'm just focused on winning. I don't think it'll be the end of the world (if I don't win), but I'm not going to think about losing at any point in time.

"I know what it takes to be a champion. All I can do is focus and get it done."

Bolt said he would speak to his coach at the end of the season over which events he would run in 2013 and didn't completely rule out an attempt at the 400 meters.

He also said he would run on Jamaica's 4x400 relay team at the Olympics if there was an injury and no one else could fill in.

Sally Ride Sparks Coming Out Debate Posthumously

NEW YORK -- Pioneering astronaut Sally Ride, who relished privacy as much as she did adventure, chose an appropriately discreet manner of coming out.

At the end of an obituary that she co-wrote with her partner, Tam O'Shaughnessy, they disclosed to the world their relationship of 27 years. That was it.

As details trickled out after Ride's death on Monday, it became clear that a circle of family, friends and co-workers had long known of the same-sex relationship and embraced it. For many millions of others, who admired Ride as the first American woman in space, it was a revelation ? and it sparked a spirited discussion about privacy vs. public candor in regard to sexual orientation.

Some commentators, such as prominent gay blogger Andrew Sullivan of the Daily Beast, second-guessed Ride's decision to opt for privacy.

"She had a chance to expand people's horizons and young lesbians' hope and self-esteem, and she chose not to," he wrote. "She was the absent heroine."

Others were supportive of Ride's choices.

Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson of New Hampshire, who in 2003 became the first openly gay bishop in the Anglican world, noted that both he and Ride were baby boomers who grew up "in a time when coming out was almost unthinkable."

Robinson is 65. Ride was 61 when she died of pancreatic cancer.

"For girls who had an interest in science and wanted to go places women had not been allowed to go, she was a tremendous role model," Robinson said Wednesday. "The fact that she chose to keep her identity as a lesbian private ? I honor that choice."

However, Robinson said he had a different standard for younger gays ? to the point of insisting that his own clergy in New Hampshire be open about their sexuality if they are gay or lesbian.

"While there is still discrimination and coming out will still have repercussions, the effect of those repercussions are vastly reduced now," Robinson said. "I believe that times have changed."

There's no question that gays and lesbians overall are coming out now at a higher rate and an earlier age than those of previous generations. According to the LGBT Movement Advancement Project, adults aged 30-54 are 16 times more likely to be closeted than those under 30.

In pop culture, the fine arts, the entertainment industry, and in some individual sports, it's now commonplace for luminaries to be out as gay or lesbian. But in many other fields, the dynamics are different.

Aside from Ride, no other astronaut of any nation has come out as gay. No active player in the four major North American pro sports leagues ? football, basketball, baseball, hockey ? has come out as gay, though some retired players have done so. Ken Mehlman came out as gay only after he completed his stint as chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Back in 2002, baseball star Mike Piazza ? then playing with the New York Mets ? rebutted rumors by holding a news conference to declare, "I'm not gay." Queen Latifah, the hip-hop star and actress, has countered comparable speculation over the years by refusing to discuss her personal life.

According to a study by the Human Rights Campaign, a national gay-rights group, 51 percent of gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual workers hide their sexual identity to most or all of their fellow employees. Citing those findings, gay-rights activists have been pushing, so for in vain, for Congress to outlaw workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Fred Sainz, the Human Rights Campaign's vice president for communications, said his initial reaction to the revelation about Sally Ride was, "What a shame that we didn't learn this while she was alive."

"However, the fact it was acknowledged in death will be an incredibly powerful message to all Americans about the contributions of their LGBT counterparts," Sainz said. "The completeness of her life will be honored correctly."

Ride's sister, Bear Ride, a lesbian who has been active in gay-rights causes, e-mailed a supportive explanation of Ride's choice.

"She was just a private person who wanted to do things her way," she wrote. "She hated labels (including `hero')."

Carolyn Porco, a prominent planetary scientist and leader of the imaging team on NASA's Cassini mission to Saturn, met Ride many years ago when she was an astronaut candidate, already steeped in the NASA mindset of reserve and self-effacement.

"Following her career all these years, she struck me as a woman of impeccable class, and it doesn't surprise she wanted to keep her private life private," Porco said. "I don't think it's anyone else's business, and I'd love for us all to get to the place where it doesn't matter anymore."

That's been a common theme in the commentary about Ride's relationship ? a hope that American society will someday reach a point where being gay or lesbian is no more noteworthy than being straight.

Sarah Blazucki, editor of Philadelphia Gay News, said that day has not arrived.

"It's still important to come out, because we're not post-gay yet," she said. "When we do have full equality, then it's a different story."

She expressed respect for Ride's choices, but also regret.

"In the long run, everyone in the LGBT community and those who will follow benefit from someone coming out," Blazucki said. "It's sad that she felt she had to wait."

Another gay journalist, widely followed blogger Bil Browning, said the revelation about Ride left him with mixed feelings.

"I wish that she had come out while she was alive," he said. "The statement that would have been sent to young lesbians across the country would have been like Obama's election was to African-American kids."

On the other hand, he acknowledged generational differences and said Ride was entitled to her privacy.

"The activist in me thinks it's a missed opportunity," Browning said. "But she did the right thing at the end."

Some of the same issues involving privacy and openness surfaced in early July when CNN journalist Anderson Cooper, after years of reluctance to go public about his personal life, confirmed that he is gay.

Cooper wrote in an online letter that he had kept his sexual orientation private for personal and professional reasons, but eventually decided that remaining silent had given some people a mistaken impression that he was ashamed.

"I hope this doesn't mean an end to a small amount of personal space," Cooper wrote. "But I do think visibility is important, more important than preserving my reporter's shield of privacy."

Two days later, there was another revelation: fast-rising R&B star Frank Ocean announced on his Tumblr page that his first love was a man.

"I don't have any secrets I need to keep anymore," Ocean wrote at the end of his post. "I feel like a free man."

Now it seems there is speculation and interest in my private life and relationships. So, rather than ignore those who choose to publish their opinions without actually talking to me, I am happy to dispel any rumors or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love." </blockquote>

You shouldn't be shy about that because every time...an actor like you is helping a zillion other people that are scared to talk about their sexuality so good for you." Chris Colfer: "Thank you. If it is an immigration situation that you find yourself in then you need to locate an immigration attorney who knows all of the ins and outs of this type of law.Immigration law can be tricky because unlike some of the other fields of the law, it changes occasionally. The lawyer you go to for help needs to be aware of the changes and needs to keep abreast of new developments. Knowing this information you can then go in search of the best immigration attorney that you can find to be of assistance to you in whatever it is you need.

Finding a suitable immigration attorney sounds simpler than it is in reality. You need to have your wits about you when you make your selection. Choosing the wrong legal practitioner could end up making your immigration issue that much worse.

You need to find an immigration attorney who can offer you excellent advice and sound legal counsel. It is best to choose an individual who only practices in the field of immigration. If the legal professional you hire to work your case has a sound knowledge about all of the recent modifications that have taken place with immigration law then your case will proceed in a smoother manner and is more likely to lead to a successful conclusion.

The experience that the attorney has matters to the overall outcome of the case. An experienced lawyer will know exactly what to do if changes to immigration laws occur suddenly when your case is already underway. This sometimes happens and you need to know that you are in capable hands that can respond to this situation in an efficient manner and can guarantee that the situation will still remain in control. As far as experience is concerned, you should seek to find a legal immigration provider who has been practicing for at least a period of three to five years.

To find an immigration attorney who gives good advice, or better yet, excellent advice you need to also think about the practical side of things, which is to say the financial side of things. You need to compare the fees that various lawyers are offering you. To do this though you need to make sure that the comparison is a fair one. Make your comparisons of the attorney fees based upon the experience of the legal experts.

You would be wise to choose a lawyer for your immigration case who has a willingness to work on agreements involving flat fees. You need to get this in writing before the professional starts work on your case. There are plenty of immigration lawyers that will offer their clients the opportunity to pay their fees with monthly payments that are affordable for them. Selecting such a person would be very beneficial for you.

Choosing your immigration attorney philadelphia can be a daunting process. That?s why http://www.tranlawassociates.com is here to help.

UK watchdog: Stop recording taxi conversations

(AP) ? Britain's information watchdog has ordered a city council to stop recording people's conversations in taxis.

Information Commissioner Christopher Graham said Wednesday that Southampton City Council in southern England had "gone too far" in its desire to ensure people's safety and that most people would expect more privacy in the back of a taxi.

Graham said CCTV cameras can still be used in cabs, but that the recording of conversations must stop.

Southampton City Council said it was considering an appeal of the order.

Britain has hundreds of thousands of surveillance cameras in public places, including many trains, subways and buses. But Southampton's use of audio recorders in licensed taxi cabs has outraged civil liberties campaigners.

Olympics soccer: dynamic duo sparks USA comeback against France

USA spotted France a 2-0 lead in the first 15 minutes before roaring back for a 4-2 win in its Olympic opener. US forwards Abby Wambach and Alex Morgan were dominant.

So, what, exactly, are we to make of the USA's 4-2 win in their opener in the women's Olympic soccer tournament Wednesday.?

' + google_ads[0].line2 + '
' + google_ads[0].line3 + '

'; } else if (google_ads.length > 1) { ad_unit += ''; } } document.getElementById("ad_unit").innerHTML += ad_unit; google_adnum += google_ads.length; return; } var google_adnum = 0; google_ad_client = "pub-6743622525202572"; google_ad_output = 'js'; google_max_num_ads = '1'; google_feedback = "on"; google_ad_type = "text"; google_adtest = "on"; google_image_size = '230x105'; google_skip = '0'; // -->

The American women did begin about as well as "Saving Private Ryan," conceding two goals in the first 15 minutes.?

Then again, they won 4-2, and France, who likes to play with a certain amount of artistry, didn't look like it had any idea how to handle the US defense pressure. Given the choice of playing A) a pack of wild dogs, or B) a US team pressing them high up the pitch, giving them no space or time to play Monet, the French might well have chosen A.?

In the end, the entertaining game gave an unvarnished look at what the US team is: A team with awesome offensive firepower and a dodgy defense that could keep every game against top teams close.

Fortunately for the US, the team perhaps most capable of beating them, Germany, is not here because of a quirk in the Olympic qualifying process. Meanwhile, Brazil appears on the downward swing, and France, on this evidence, is not far enough on its upward swing to handle what the US offers.

In last year's World Cup final, Japan held on for a draw (and a win in penalty kicks) thanks only to some shocking American defending. That was in evidence again Wednesday, too. ? ?

In front of their own goal, the US defense too often looked as though it was responding to a fire alarm. Surprisingly, neither of the French goals were created by their undoubted skill. On the first, two American defenders mixed signals, allowing Gaetane Thiney the space and time to launch a thunderous shot into the far corner from 20 yards. Two minutes later, a French corner fell into the American box like a grenade, and forward Marie-Laure Delie was the first to pounce, powering it past US keeper Hope Solo.

But for the French, it was too much, too soon. The Americans still had 75 minutes. They only needed 60 of them.

While the French still looked dangerous on offense, the US rarely allowed them the opportunity. Unrelenting pressure on the French defense and midfield meant that French could never settle into their ball-control game, and in a flurry of turnovers and hurried passes, America ground its way into gear.

Down 2-0, US forward Abby Wambach did what she does best: be almost completely unguardable in the air. With a strong cross arrowing to the far post, she rose above all the defenders and looped a brilliant header over the stranded French goalkeeper and into the far corner of the net.

Then it was Morgan's turn. A one-woman clinic in how to move dangerously without the ball, a lucky bounce found her behind the defense. In one fluid turn, she pinwheeled the ball past the advancing keeper and into the net. After a Carli Lloyd piledriver to make it 3-2 in the second half, Morgan was at it again, showing up at the far post for the Easiest Goal in Olympic History ? a two-foot tap-in into an empty net.

In an hour, a national soccer crisis had been turned into a laugher that could have been worse ? the referee waived off what appeared to be two clear fouls in the box against Morgan. Indeed, as the game wore on, it appeared as though the French strategy to contain Morgan was to pretend she was a pi?ata. ?

The question of how to guard Wambach and Morgan is one that may, as yet, have no answer. Wambach is the wrecking ball, and Morgan glides through the openings she creates. It is an irresistible combination that promises goals from every conceivable angle ? and on Wednesday, delivered.?

An opening game is hardly a coronation ? especially one with as many flaws as this one. But at least one thing seems certain: When the US takes the field in these Olympics, entertainment is assured.?

Alzheimer&#39;s Disease: New Book Provides Critical, Evidence-Based ...

Denver, CO, July 24, 2012 ?(PR.com)? A new book provides a comprehensive, evidence-based treatment path that may be the answer for the 5.4 million Americans afflicted with Alzheimer?s disease (AD). While there is yet no pharmaceutical magic bullet for this devastating, terminal disease, two leading integrative physicians have assembled a promising program that may, today, slow, arrest or even reverse AD.

Drs. David Leonardi and Nathan Daley of Denver, Colorado, specialists in Integrative Preventive Medicine have assembled 33 elements with proven efficacy against the root biochemistry underlying AD. Their six-step program is elucidated in their new book: Alzheimer?s, Memory Loss, and MCI: The Latest Science for Prevention and Treatment, available today on Amazon.com.

Too improbable? Perhaps not. ?Big Pharma is trying to come up with a single drug to cure a disease that is caused by unfavorable brain chemistry along 9 different avenues.? explains Dr. Leonardi. ?It?s unlikely that a single compound can influence two avenues, let alone nine.?

According to Dr. Daley, ?Our research uncovered 33 elements all with documented, published efficacy against the biochemistry (all nine avenues) underlying AD. Yet, astoundingly, no one in history has ever assembled them into a comprehensive treatment. We believe that using all 33 will accomplish the goal of preventing, arresting and possibly reversing AD, depending on the duration and extent of the disease.?

The 33 elements are integrative (multidisciplinary), involving a combination of lifestyle changes, nutritional supplements, bioidentical hormone replacement and medications, each element targeting specific brain chemistry. ?This is an idea that is way overdue. The information has been under our noses for twenty years but never once implemented. We believe that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts,? adds Leonardi.

?Many of the 33 elements directly target the two primary components of AD ? beta amyloid plaque and neurofibrillary tangles ? with the goal of reducing their formation and increasing their removal from the brain,? Dr. Daley states. Simultaneously, other elements are protecting sensitive brain cells from the toxicity of those culprits and from related toxins ? free radicals, advanced glycation endproducts and inflammation. It is the first comprehensive approach to this multifaceted disease. Every known pathway in AD is covered by several of the 33 components, each validated among the 284 citations from scientific journals, with each citation linked to a specific statement.

David Leonardi, M.D. is a world-renowned physician who has been a featured resource in two books by celebrity alternative medicine crusader, Suzanne Somers. He is a featured corporate speaker and has been a leader in vitality and longevity medicine since 1997. Nathan Daley, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Arizona Fellowship in Integrative Medicine and is board certified in both Preventive and Integrative Medicine.

The book has been endorsed by the prolific author, founder and director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine ? Andrew Weill, M.D., by Mimi Guarneri, M.D., FACC, Founder and Medical Director of the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, and by Dharma Singh Khalsa, M.D., President and Medical Director of the Alzheimer?s Research and Prevention Foundation.

At the release of their innovative new book, Drs. Leonardi and Daley are currently enrolling Alzheimer?s patients in a pilot clinical trial, and are hopeful that the results these patients get will be groundbreaking. Alternatively, Alzheimer?s patients may use the program described in the book in conjunction with their own personal physician.

Often, Just Watching Prostate Cancer Is Enough

The New York Times:

When Eddie Carrillo, a Los Angeles contractor, was found to have prostate cancer at the age of 52, his primary care doctor and his urologist both urged him to have his prostate removed. But after hearing about a ?watchful waiting? program on talk radio, Mr. Carrillo decided to simply monitor his disease rather than treat it.

That was 15 years ago, and Mr. Carrillo, still hale at 67, is glad he did not succumb to pressure to undergo surgery.

Earnings before income taxes were $11.9 million in the second quarter of 2012, compared to $10.4 million in the same quarter a year ago. The $1.5 million increase was mainly due to higher zinc sales volumes and zinc premiums, and lower finance costs, partially offset by lower by-product revenues.

Cash provided by operating activities in the second quarter of 2012, before net changes in non-cash working capital items and cash distributions, was $18.4 million compared to $21.4 million during the same period of 2011. During the second quarter of 2012, non-cash working capital decreased by $7.0 million due to a decrease in inventories, partially offset by an increase in accounts receivable and a decrease in accounts payable and accrued liabilities. During the second quarter of 2011, non-cash working capital increased by $6.8 million due to an increase in accounts receivable and the impact of the change in the fair value of the embedded derivative related to the zinc concentrate payable.

Financial and Operating Highlights (First half 2012 compared to first half 2011)

Earnings before income taxes were $27.5 million in the first half of 2012, compared to $27.1 million in the same period a year ago. The $0.4 million increase was mainly due to higher zinc premiums, sulphuric acid netbacks and sulphuric acid sales, and lower finance costs, partially offset by lower zinc sales volumes and lower copper sales and prices.

Cash provided by operating activities in the first half of 2012, before net changes in non-cash working capital items and cash distributions, was $41.5 million compared to $34.6 million during the same period of 2011. During the first half of 2012, non-cash working capital increased by $17.0 million due to a decrease in income taxes payable and accrued liabilities, partially offset by a decrease in inventories and accounts receivable. During the first half of 2011, non-cash working capital decreased by $23.8 million due to a decrease in accounts receivable, an increase in accounts payable and accrued liabilities and income taxes payable and the impact of the change in the fair value of the embedded derivative related to the zinc concentrate payable.

Adjusted Earnings before Distributions to Unitholders, Finance Costs, Income Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (?Adjusted EBITDA?)

Adjusted EBITDA is used by the Fund as an indication of cash generated from operations. Adjusted EBITDA is not a recognized measure under IFRS and therefore the Fund?s method of calculating Adjusted EBITDA is unlikely to be comparable to methods used by other entities.

The Fund?s Adjusted EBITDA is calculated by starting with earnings before finance costs and income taxes and adjusting for all of the non-cash items such as depreciation, rehabilitation expense, net change in employee benefits, changes in fair value of embedded derivatives and non-cash gains/(losses) on derivative financial instruments. A reconciliation of earnings before finance costs and income taxes to Adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter and first half of 2012 compared to the same periods of 2011 is provided below:
